For 25 years starting around 1968 and ending around 1993, my family visited a remote fly-in fishing lodge on Smoky Lake in Northern Ontario called Rogerson’s. I made my first trip in 1982 at the age of 15.
Typically, we’d fish all day but take a break for a sack lunch on the water. But occasionally, we’d ask the staff to pack up a “shore lunch” which involved us catching and filleting fish and them providing some bacon, beans, and other canned goods to complement the meal. In 1991, I shot this video of us preparing our lunch, and it brings back some good memories.
