Highlights:
Albert Mountain at 5,250 feet is one of the last remaining fire towers along the Appalachian Trail. It is still active during dry weather, and the views from the base of the mountain are excellent. The Blue Ridge is seen to the east and the Little Tennessee River Valley is below the summit. Big Spring Shelter is located a short distance from the mountain and it has numerous tent sites and a spring.
