Highlights:

Cane Creek Park is located near Waxhaw, NC and is run by Union County. The park’s focal point is a 350-acre lake rumored to house trophy bass and the park has wilderness, group, and full-service campsites surrounding the water. There are also nearly 14 miles of trails for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders.

On this hike, I started at the first parking area after the main park entrance and used a combination of the yellow, purple, blue, and green trails to walk around the lake to the group campsites on the south east side of the park. There are great views from the dam and from the other open areas on the route. This hike is long but it gives you a great look at the park and the variety of playgrounds, campsites, and park facilities around the lake.
