The Baths is a beach area on the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands of the Caribbean. It is located about 1.2 miles south off Spanish Town at the southern tip of the island between Spring Bay and Devil’s Bay. The Baths is a major tourist attraction due to the unique geologic formations which were formed by volcanic activity that resulted in granite eroding into piles of boulders on the beach. The boulders reach forty feet in height and form natural tidal pools, tunnels, and arches by the sea.
On this hike we explored the maze of caverns and boulders at the Baths – sometimes wading through ankle to knee deep water. The nearby beach at Devil’s Bay National Park is a great destination after your hike and we had a chance to do some swimming and snorkeling there while at Virgin Gorda. Ferries operate regularly from nearby ports and can provide you with transport to the island.
