Highlights:

The Len Foote Hike Inn is located in and around the Amicalola Falls State Park and Chattahoochee National Forest.  It is targeted to hikers that enjoy the wilderness but prefer a soft bed, hot showers, and great food instead of backcountry camping.

The Inn was completed in the late 1990’s, and is accessible only by foot over a moderate five mile trail which originates at the top of the falls. The trail is fairly easy and it crosses some small streams and ridges on the way to the Inn.  You can combined it with the blue blazed Approach Trail and complete a loop hike back to the Amicalola Falls (where the Len Foote Hike Inn parking area is located.)

This was our third trip to the Len Foote Hike Inn, and this time we decided to hike in from Nimblewill Gap. If you take USFS 28 to the gap, I highly suggest a four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle with high clearance. It’s a rough and long road. From Nimblewill Gap, it’s 1.6 miles to the Hike Inn following the blue-blazed Approach Trail south for 0.6 miles, then the lime green Hike Inn Trail another mile to the facility. The route begins with a 300′ climb from the gap then gets easier in the remaining miles.
