Highlights:

The Hoover Metropolitan Complex (aka the Hoover Met), is a multi-use sports and event facility located in Hoover, Alabama. The venue opened in 1988 as the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium to serve as the home field for the Birmingham Barons, a minor league baseball team. Over the years, the facility has undergone several renovations and expansions to accommodate a broader range of events and activities. The facilities now include the 10,000 seat stadium, a 155,000 square-foot indoor event center, outdoor fields, and an RV park.  The complex hosts a variety of events including sports tournaments (baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, and basketball), trade shows, conventions, and community events during the year.

This metro hike starts at the Finley Center and loops around the RV park, through two parking areas, past the splash park, then around the sports fields and pickleball courts.  If you are at the Hoover Met and want to explore the area, this loop is a good way to see the grounds.  Water fountains and restrooms are located along the loop and this is a kid and dog friendly route.  The Hoover Metropolitan Complex also has a RV park with 170 asphalt pull-through parking sites if you want to overnight at the facility.  The Hoover Lake Wilborn Kidney Trail is also located to the east of the Hoover Met if you are looking for another hike in this area.
