Highlights:

Little Rock Parks & Recreation is the department responsible for managing and maintaining parks, recreational facilities, and programs in Little Rock, Arkansas. The department aims to enhance the quality of life for residents by providing diverse recreational opportunities and preserving green spaces throughout the city. Conner Park is a small neighborhood park located in Little Rock that is managed by the park & recreation department. It has a small pond with a peaceful green space for the local community to enjoy. The park includes amenities such as a playground, picnic area, walking trails, and boardwalks for fishing in the park pond.  :

On this hike, I started at Conner Park and used a combination of trails including the Lake Loop, Dr. Tom’s, and Eagle trail to reach the River Mountain trail system which runs a ridge to the north and directly above the park.  The hike is mostly in a hardwood forest until you reach the powerline where it runs along the ridgeline.  The trail crosses Southridge Drive and eventually River Mountain Road with views of the Arkansas River if followed to the East.  On this hike, I did about half of the ridgeline then returned to the park.
