Highlights:

After years of planning and development  this 1,501-acre nature center became the largest in the Broward County park system when it opened in 1996.  The park consists of a coastal mangrove rich in plant and animal life and it harbors some threatened and endangered species that are native to the State of Florida.

The Anne Kolb Nature Center is a 1500 acre coastal mangrove wetland which has hiking, biking, and canoe/kayak trails. This hike along the Mud Flats Trail follows a boardwalk heading west to a viewing platform that overlooks West Lake. It is a surprisingly peaceful setting in the middle of bustling Broward County. Expect to see fish swimming in the shallow waters along the waterway, and look for fiddler crabs along the trail.
