Greenway Trail

Bluffton is located in southern Beaufort County near the coast of South Carolina.  The town is one of the fastest growing municipalities in South Carolina and as of 2020 is the fifth-most populous municipality in the State.  It is located around U.S. Route 278, between Hilton Head Island and Interstate 95. The Lowcountry town’s original one square mile area, now known as Old Town, is situated on a bluff along the May River. 

The Greenway Trail is a  path that circles Buckwalter Place which is a shopping complex near Bluffton, SC. The well maintained trail has a large entrance located near the back corner of the Publix shopping center and only a short distance from U.S. 278 in the town of Bluffton. The trail traverses a small pond and many strands of large pine. The buildings of the shopping complex are within site for most of the hike.
