Highlights:

Lexington, South Carolina, is a vibrant and historic town located in the Midlands region of the state. It serves as the county seat of Lexington County and is part of the Columbia metropolitan area. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, excellent schools, and growing economy, Lexington is a sought-after place to live and visit.  Founded in the early 19th century, Lexington has a rich history, with landmarks like the Lexington County Museum, which showcases life in the area during the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Gibson Road Complex is a facility located in Lexington, SC with facilities for soccer, volleyball, baseball, tennis, and basketball. There are a series of long and paved walking paths at the complex which also has a large picnic shelter and restrooms on the site. The Lexington County Recreation Commission manages the Gibson Road sports facility – which is also known as the “Lexington Soccer Complex”.  On this hike, I followed a series of flat, paved trails through the complex and walked around the perimeter of the fields. The hiking is easy and is a great way to get some exercise in between sports games.
