DuPont State Forest - September 2005
Highlights:

DuPont State Forest was officially established in 1997 and covers approximately 12,500 acres across Henderson and Transylvania counties in western North Carolina.  The forest lies between Hendersonville and Brevard, and was designated a State Recreational Forest, managed by the North Carolina Forest Service.  Popular blockbuster films like The Last of the Mohicans (1992) and The Hunger Games (2012) were shot at iconic locations including Hooker Falls, Triple Falls, High Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls.  The classic three-waterfall loop (Hooker, Triple, High Falls) is about 2.2–3 miles and is easy to moderate in difficulty—very popular, especially on weekends

This easy to moderate loop at DuPont State Forest hike starts at the Hooker Falls Parking Area and ascends past Triple Falls to High Falls where there is a covered bridge accessible via a side trail at the top. Both falls are spectacular with access trails to their base and excellent opportunities for photographs. The Triple Falls Trail turns north just past High Falls for a pleasant loop hike that is suitable for all ages.  The park is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. with free admission.  There is also the Aleen Steinberg Visitor Center located at the High Falls access point which has maps, free Wi-Fi, and restrooms.
