Waikamoi Falls is a scenic waterfall located along the famous Hana Highway at mile marker 10 on the island of Maui. It’s one of the many waterfalls you’ll encounter on this iconic “Road to Hana” drive – offering a chance to experience Maui’s lush rainforest and natural beauty. The falls are visible from the road and require a short hike for closer access. Parking can be tricky as it’s limited to roadside pullouts. Look for safe spots to park and be cautious of passing traffic.
The hike to Waikamoi Falls is less than 0.5 miles and includes a series of cascading waterfalls and pools, perfect for photography or a quick dip. The trail is unmarked and can be muddy, especially after rain. So good footwear is recommended. The pools at the base of the falls are shallow and often inviting for a quick swim, but check for debris and avoid swimming during or after heavy rain due to the risk of flash floods. The hike to Waikamoi Falls is short and leads up past the top of the falls. From here is an exciting jump of roughly 30-40 feet to the pool below. You can also continue upstream to a second and larger waterfall, but the rocks are slippery when wet.
