Highlights:

Dunwoody is a city in DeKalb County, Georgia, located in the northeastern suburbs of Atlanta.  Dunwoody is a diverse and affluent community with a mix of residential neighborhoods, corporate offices, and retail areas. The city attracts families, professionals, and retirees due to its amenities and proximity to Atlanta. Dunwoody was officially incorporated as a city on December 1, 2008.  As of the latest estimates, the city has a population of approximately 50,000.  Dunwoody is home to several parks, such as Brook Run Park, a large recreational space with trails, a playground, and a skate park.

The Dunwoody Nature Center has a small trail system with both one-way and loop trails that traverse a wooded area over small streams and wooden bridges. During our hike, the leaves were exposing many of the surrounding housing developments, but the trails are well maintained and easy to follow. We ended up hiking the entire trail network including a small boardwalk on the east side of the park. It only took us an hour which makes this a great destination for a family or anyone that wants an relaxing stroll in the woods. There are a number of playgrounds and picnic areas on the route and lots of opportunities to take a break.
