Highlights:

Captiva Island has been called “Sanibel’s Little Sister” and has only 18 neighborhoods. There is a small area known as Captiva Village at the north end of Captiva road just before it enters the South Seas Island Resort and Yacht Club. Captiva Village is the heart and soul of local life on the island.

This is a short hike along a remote section of beach on the gulf side of Captiva Island which has outstanding sunsets and relatively little traffic. The 16500 block is a private beach, but you can find a public access point nearby for a similar experience. On this hike, I traveled north toward the village for just over a mile and returned to the starting point.
