HIGHLIGHTS: Man Key is located a short boat ride from the town of Key West in southern Florida. It is a small island in the Key West National Wildlife Refuge which is a protected area a few miles across from the bustling harbor and bar district of Key West. Man Key offers snorkeling and kayaking opportunities and a small beach which faces east toward the harbor of Key West. The area is a nice place to take a break and check out some of the marine life in the refuge, but most of the island is held together by a root system of mangrove trees, so hiking opportunities are limited. Danger Charters and a number of adventure tour companies provide both kayaking and snorkeling trips to the area.
