*Note: In the future, you will be able to click from each day of my section-hike/thru-hike to a journal entry with photographs. Since I was not a purist (or a hiker that follows every single white blaze) and I occasionally followed some blue-blazes, I did not hike all of the 2146 miles of white-blazed Appalachian Trail in 1994. For the record, only about 1% of A.T. thru-hikers are purists and if you ever have a chance to walk from Georgia to Maine – you will understand why. Since then, I have retraced most of the steps that I missed in 1994 and currently clock in at 2200+ miles (which includes some backtracking).
